Smart watches are hottest line of smart wearable technology, with smart glasses in line for the coming years. In both cases, however, you will often have to make a choice: will you pick smart technology that functions as a standalone device, or will you pick smart technology that is tethered to another more capable smart device?

Capable processors and high-capacity batteries are also shrinking with each passing year, making the next generation of wearable gadgets less bulky and intrusive than current generations.
